Michele D’Onofrio has spent her legal career ardently advocating for her clients exclusively in family law matters.  She represents a myriad of clients from high-level executives to hard-working stay-at-home parents in navigating the complexities of the legal system.

 

Ms. D’Onofrio prides herself on staying current not only in the law, but in legal trends in family law.  In order to do this, Ms. D’Onofrio is a member of the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Section.  She is a past President of the Somerset County Bar Association and former co-chair of the Family Law Committee.  Ms. D’Onofrio has been appointed to serve as a panelist for the Early Settlement Panel in Somerset County to assist the courts and litigants in settling family law disputes.

 

Ms. D’Onofrio is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 1991.  She is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.  She has served as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Central New Jersey Family Law American Inns of Court, and is a Graduate of the William J. Brennan American Inns of Court and has lectured on family law.  Ms. D’Onofrio has been honored to receive the 2017 Professionalism Award of the Somerset County Bar Association.

 

Ms. D’Onofrio received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Caldwell College, where she was elected to Kappa Gamma Pi National Honor Society, and her J.D. from Rutgers Law School-Newark, where she was named to Who’s Who Among American Law Students.  She is a trained mediator as well as a collaboratively trained attorney who enjoys the challenge of litigation.

 

As a mother of four adult sons, and a grandmother to four delightful grandchildren, she draws on her real-life experiences as well as her extensive legal training to assist her clients through their difficult family law matters with empathy and compassion while focusing on their goals.
